Forum Update :: Domain, Etc.

Hello guys,

Well, unfortunately, I bring bad news. We have a limited amount of credits so we cannot YET afford a forum domain. We need 1600 credits to get one. If you'd like to donate, you may do so here: http://www.erepbelgium.com/donate

But there really is no need to!

Instead, we are planning to use the remaining credits to get more space for the forum as we are growing in an immense pace (thanks to Theneka *wink* *wink*), but, I will try to buy more credits myself and slowly build up credits till we reach 1600. The voted domain (which I cannot say publicly in-case someone takes it first) has been reserved so it will be ours once we have the credits!

I don't know how much credits cost but I do hope you know that a domain name only costs around $8 if you buy one in a regular shop.
So I wouldn't throw any really money against this.
Lets not forget that forumotion actually earns more money (by advertising) the more popular this forum becomes.

As I buy domain names in bulk I can even get it for less so if you ever want I can donate a domain name and forward it to this forum. Or if I get the nameservers or IP point it directly to the forum.

Yes, Im currently looking into that and seeing how if I would purchase a domain to transfer the forum.

I found out how to do that on the forummotion forums. If you find a place to get the domain I can look into giving it to the forum.

You can't tranfer this forum to a different host, but you can change the domain name to one you bought elsewhere.

With a normal phpbb forum you can export the database from the admin panel. Most free forums have deleted this option though.
